Anna Wadlington, aged 9, set up a lemonade stand at the corner of Dartmouth and Marlborough streets on the Fourth of July. Her intention was to raise a little money for the Animal Rescue League of Boston, located in the South End. Little turned into a lot. Neighbors turned out in force to drink the lemonade. Visitors from 22 different states passed by and sipped the refreshing juice also. By the end of the day, Anna had raised $400. To top it off, Anna’s uncle matched the lemonade stand’s donation.
So the Animal Rescue League is $800 richer all because of the Marlborough Street resident’s Independence Day effort.
