Letters to the Editor

Members of Ward 5 Dems support Katie Forde for Suffolk County Register of Deeds

Dear Editor:

Thursday, Sept. 8, is primary election day.

We urge you to vote for Katie Forde for Suffolk County Register of Deeds.

The Register of Deeds is one of those government jobs often called a “velvet coffin.” It refers to the practice of elected officials seeking an easy, end of career position that pays well and doesn’t require much effort.

Katie is not at the end of her career, has never held elected office, and sees the job as an opportunity to improve the operations of an important agency and protect consumers.

The Register of Deeds plays an important role for property owners. It is a job that must be done well, and we have confidence in Katie’s ability to run the agency with professionalism.

You can find more information about her at www.katieforde.com.

We are members of the Ward 5 Democratic Committee and ask for your vote for Katie Forde on Sept. 8.

Congratulations on your continuing interest in gas leaks.
