D-4 POLICE NEWS
Joyless ride
On Monday, Oct. 16, at about 10:45 a.m., a victim walked into District 4 headquarters and reported that his motor vehicle was stolen from the corner of Northampton and Harrison streets at around 4 p.m. the previous day.
The victim said when he put his keys in the ignition to warm his car up, an unknown male suspect walked onto Northampton Street from Washington Street and pointed a handgun at him. The suspect then took the victim’s Invicta watch, with an estimated value of $550; a chain and pendant, with an estimated value of $1,500; and $150 cash before departing in the victim’s vehicle.
About a half hour later, the victim’s car was involved in a hit-and-run accident at 27 Northfolk St. and towed to MJ’s Towing with severe, front-end damage.
Spare change
On Tuesday, Oct. 17, at approximately 4:29 p.m., police responded to East Boston Savings Bank at 1134 Washington St. for a hold-up alarm.
Upon arrival, a teller told officers that a female walked up to her window and passed a note stating: “I have a gun. Give me money.”
The suspect, who didn’t display a weapon, then said, “Give me anything.”
The suspect departed with $328.40 and a dye-pack, taking a right onto Berkeley Street and heading towards Fay Street.
Police recovered several dye-stained coins from Fay Street, adjacent to JJ Foley’s, and an investigation is now ongoing.
Handshake drugs
On Wednesday, Oct. 18, at about 11:35 a.m., police monitoring the area of the Boston Medical Center for drug activity observed a female suspect walking on Massachusetts Avenue towards Albany Street.
The suspect then met with another female in a wheelchair and had a brief conversation with the other woman before handing her money. At this time, the other female removed an orange pill bottle from her purse and handed some of its contents to the suspect.
Believing he had observed a street-level drug deal, one plainclothes officer approached the women and identified himself as police. The officer then observed the suspect two green pills believed to be Clonazepam in her right hand, at which time she handed the pills over to the officer and admitted that she just purchased the pills for $4 from the woman in the wheelchair. Police instructed the woman that she would subsequently be summonsed to Boston Municipal Court for possession of a Class B substance and advised her to seek treatment.
The officer then approached the woman in the wheelchair and identified himself as police. After the officer apprised the woman of what he had observed, she handed him the pill bottle with no label, which contained three more pills. She admitted to selling the pills to the other woman, and will be summonsed to Boston Municipal Court for distribution of a Class C substance and possession with intent to distribute of a Class C substance.
Smack-down
On Thursday, Oct. 16, at around 4:20 p.m., police responded to a radio call for an assault and battery in progress in the area of St. James Place and Trinity Place.
Upon arrival, several witnesses directed officers to the victim, who said the suspect ran up to him and punched him several times.
One witness told police she witnessed the suspect assault several people in Copley Square, and that she had recorded the incident on her phone.
The suspect was placed under arrest for disorderly conduct and transported to District 4 headquarters for booking.
