POLICE NEWS
LOSERS, GUNS AND MONEY
On Monday, Nov. 13, at about 1:05 p.m., a male victim walked into the District 4 station to report that he was threatened by an unknown suspect and subsequently sent them around $4,000.
The victim said he began communicating with an unknown female via the WeChat app and sent her $200. He said he then received a phone call from a blocked number and was told to keep sending money or “people with guns” would find and harm him. The victim said he then sent money to the unknown suspect via the WeChat app and using Google Play gift cards. He also provided the unknown suspect with his bank account information.
The victim was advised to notify his bank.
Honest as the day is long
On Wednesday, Nov. 15, at approximately 12:23 p.m., members of the District 4 Drug Unit observed two male suspects walking on Massachusetts Avenue near Albany Street when another man, who had the appearance of a drug user, approached them.
The three men then huddled together and appeared to engage in a street-level drug transaction. Officer attempted to follow the third suspect, but lost sight of him to heavy traffic.
Police then returned to the area of the alleged drug deal and furnished a plainclothes officer with $60 “buy” money to facilitate another transaction.
The undercover officer then approached the suspect and asked if he “had anything.” The suspect replied that he had Clonazepam and agreed to sell the officer eight pills for $20.
After the officer and suspect completed the transaction, a uniformed officer approached the suspect and informed him of his Miranda rights.
“I’m not going to lie,” the suspect said. “I did sell pills to those guys.”
Police then searched the suspect and r3ecovred the $20 “buy” money, as well as an addition $87 from his right pants pocket.
The suspect will be summonsed to Boston Municipal Court on charges of distribution of Class C drugs.
Silver bullet
