Unwanted asparagus

On Tuesday, Jan. 2, at about 1:15 p.m., police responded to a radio call for a reported threat at Boomerangs thrift store at 1407 Washington St.

Upon arrival, the officer met with the owners, who said they have recently become concerned with a patron who visits the store daily. The suspect, who is known to sweat profusely, was observed to be wearing a rainbow lanyard and carrying a tin lunchbox.

The owners said the patron exhibited strange behavior, hand-delivering a single asparagus spear to each of them. One of the owners accepted the food item while the other refused, telling him to have a good day. The patron replied that she had just ruined his day, and that he should go kill himself.

Later that day, the owners said a note was left on the front door of the business in the patron’s handwriting that read: “You are very bad people, just hate-filled.”

The officer advised the owners to contact police if they see any sign of the patron or receive any more harassing notes.

Gang of four

On Thursday, Jan. 4, at approximately 4:10 a.m., officers responded to a radio call for an armed robbery at the intersection of Boylston and Dartmouth streets.

The victim said two male suspects followed him into the 7-Eleven at 261 Dartmouth St. The suspects proceeded to follow the victim when he left the store and crossed Dartmouth Street, at which time they threw the victim to the ground outside the Copley MBTA station. Two additional male suspects joined in the assault on the victim, one of whom removed $200 cash from his wallet. One suspect then pointed a black handgun at the victim before they all fled the area.

The victim, received a small cut to his lip during the assault, but refused medical attention at the scene.

Police then spoke with employees at the 7-Eleven in an effort to obtain a surveillance video of first two suspects.

Meanwhile, officers stopped an individual matching one of the suspects’ descriptions and performed a pat frisk on the man, which yielded a silver-handled steak knife and several individually packaged bags of what was believed to be crack cocaine.

The suspect was charged with possession of a Class B substance with intent to distribute.

Snow job

On Thursday, Jan. 4, at around 11:10 p.m., a victim walked into District 4 headquarters to report that someone had dumped approximately 10 feet of snow onto his property’s rear parking lot at 16 Peterborough St., completely blocking the entrance to his garage and adjacent parking spaces.

The victim said when he returned to his property at approximately 9:30 p.m., he observed a backhoe clearing the parking lot of the adjacent building. When the victim asked the operator of the backhoe why he dumped snow on the his property, the operator apologized and said a truck would come by soon to remove the snow from the victim’s property.

The victim said the operator then removed snow from in front of garage, but continued to dump snow on his property, blocking access to several parking spaces on his property.

The victim told police he has surveillance video footage of the incident.
