Welcome Back to SoWa

The SoWa Artists Guild welcomes the public back to its First Fridays and Second Sundays, when more than 90 artists at 450 Harrison Ave. in SoWa open their doors so you can meet the artists in person, view the work they created over the past year, and  have the opportunity to buy directly from them.

Artists will open for First Fridays and Second Sundays all year long. The next First Friday takes place on Sept. 3 from 5-9 p.m., and the next Second Sunday is on Sept. 12 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Co|So to Host Fresh Paint Art Show

The Copley Society of Art (Co|So) will host its 33rd annual Fresh Paint event as a virtual, live auction on September 23 from 6:00 – 7:30 PM. The event will be hosted by leading auctioneer and general appraiser of Skinner Auctioneers, Stuart Slavid. All paintings will be available for bidding online from September 9 – September 23 at www.liveauctioneers.com.

Established in 1988, Co|So’s Fresh Paint was one of the first plein air painting events with an accompanying auction. The fundraiser supports innovative exhibitions of emerging and established artists, lectures, scholarships, residencies, and outreach programs. Fresh Paint is the gallery’s biggest and most important fundraiser.  The Copley Society of Art, America’s oldest non-profit arts organization, is committed to the advancement, enjoyment, and promotion of its member artists and the visual arts. The organization, founded in 1879, comprises juried artists who are selected by a credentialed art committee. Co|So provides artists with a gallery for exhibiting and selling their work and a platform for engaging and educating the community
