Volunteers again planted more than 37,000 American flags – one in honor of each of the Commonwealth’s fallen veterans – at the Soldiers and Sailors Monument on the Boston Common to commemorate Memorial Day. Every year since 2010, the Massachusetts Military Heroes Fund has led the effort behind the annual Memorial Day Flag Garden.
