Chris Firger’s exhibit
opens May 28 at Co|So

The Copley Society of Art is proud to present artist member Chris Firger’s upcoming exhibition Wandering the City, a celebration of Boston's neighborhoods, communities, architecture, and natural beauty. After years of painting New England and Massachusetts, this exhibition is Firger’s first foray into capturing the city that he called home for nearly a decade. Throughout this body of work, he portrays Boston as he sees it: vibrant, captivating, and full of life.

Firger is a landscape painter born in Haverhill, Massachusetts in 1989. He studied at McGill University in Montreal, Quebec and currently works out of his studio in Salem, Massachusetts. In Firger’s own words: "… My work invites the viewer to create their own narrative about a given place or moment in time, layering their own experiences on top of the image I’ve put in front of them. My ultimate goal as an artist is to inspire others to reconnect with, appreciate, and protect the natural world and the communities around them.”

The Copley Society of Art, the oldest non-profit arts organization in the United States, is dedicated to cultivating a dynamic and inclusive artistic community by promoting visual artists of all backgrounds and championing diverse creative voices. Through exhibitions, educational initiatives, and mentorship, we provide artists with opportunities to grow, connect, and thrive while engaging the public in meaningful creative experiences.
