World’s Top Ski Jumpers Featured at Fenway Park

Fenway Sports Management (FSM) and the U.S. Ski and Snowboard Association (USSA) announced that tickets for Polartec Big Air at Fenway, an officially sanctioned U.S. Grand Prix Tour event that will take place at Fenway Park in Boston on February 11-12, are still available at redsox.com/bigair.

Polartec, a premium provider of innovative textile solutions, has signed on as the title sponsor of this International Ski Federation (FIS) World Cup event, one of only three tour stops on the 2016 FIS calendar.

Polartec Big Air at Fenway will feature the world’s top skiers and snowboarders competing on a 140-foot high snow ramp, nearly four-times the height of Fenway Park’s famed left field wall. U.S. Olympic slopestyle skiing gold medalist Joss Christensen, slopestyle snowboarding Olympic champion Sage Kotsenburg, and Olympian Ty Walker are among the elite group of Olympians and Olympic hopefuls expected to participate.

“Polartec Big Air at Fenway is going to be a colossal event for the region, the sport, and the ballpark providing New England sports fans with the best possible sports and entertainment experience,” said Fenway Sports Management Managing Director Mark Lev. “It is only fitting that we partner with a local brand with a rich history and deep roots in the community like Polartec, to deliver against our shared commitment to making the impossible possible.”

As part of the partnership, the Lawrence, MA-based company will host a warming-station inside the visitor dugout at Fenway Park, along with a VIP lounge in the visitor clubhouse. Additionally, Polartec will sponsor all weather reports within the broadcast on NBC Sports.

Big air events consist of snowboarders and skiers competing with a single trick off a ramp similar to those seen on slope-style courses. Men’s and women’s big air snowboarding will debut at the 2018 Winter Olympics in PyeongChang, South Korea.
