Katy Mulroy led a giant dragon around the steps of the Boston Public Library during the Peoples Parade at First Night on New Year’s Eve in Copley Square. The new configuration proved popular with those who braved the rain and thousands turned out for the parade and early fireworks. A heavy police presence also sent a message about the commitment to public safety.
