At their monthly non-design review public hearing on October 9, the Boston Landmarks Commission will have a presentation of the study report for the Citgo Sign in Kenmore Square, as well has have a public hearing to gather comments and feedback about the report.
The Citgo Sign on the rooftop of 660 Beacon Street is being proposed to be designated as a Boston Landmark, but the commission vote on potential Landmark designation will not happen at this hearing. The date for that hearing is yet to be determined.
The study report is available for public viewing in Room 709 at City Hall, and online at boston.gov/landmarks.
There will also be a demolition delay hearing for 384-402 Boylston Street in the Back Bay. The BLC has received a complete application fro Vincent Norton of UrbanMeritage, LLC to demolish a commercial building at 384-390 Boylston St., a row house at 392, a rowhouse at 396-398, and a commercial building at 402 Boylston St. The Globe Bar and Cafe currently occupies 384 Boylston St.
The public will be able to provide testimony about the significance of these buildings.
