With Friends Like These….

On Monday, Oct. 14, at about 11:07 p.m., an officer assigned to District 4 responded to a radio call for an assault and battery at Boston Medical Center.

On arrival, the officer spoke with a public safety officer who said he witnessed the suspect strike his friend (the victim) in the face. The public safety officer also said the suspect appeared to be highly intoxicated at the time of the assault and ended up being admitted to the emergency room with assistance from the victim, who did not wish to press any charges against the suspect. The victim also displayed no signs of injury, the public safety officer added.

At this time, the suspect was unable to comment on the incident due to his inebriated state, police said.

Gun Shy

On Friday, Oct. 19, at approximately 11:13 p.m., police responded to a radio call for a found weapon at Abe & Louie’s at 793 Boylston St.

Upon arrival, the officer met with the restaurant manager who said at around 11 p.m., an employee found a black 9mm Ruger pistol inside the top-floor bathroom. The employee then handled the gun with a rag while transporting to a safe where it was deposited.

The officer used gloves to handle the magazine, which contained six or seven rounds of ammunition. After rendering the weapon safe, he also removed one round in the chamber.

The officer then returned to District 4 headquarters, where he turned over the gun to detectives.
