Sam Chambers, the city’s public information officer and LGBTQ contact, was on hand Monday night at The Coop at the Landmark Center.for the Fenway Civic Association’s first quarterly meeting of 2018.
Chambers discussed City Hall to Go, which he described as a “traveling, mini-City Hall” which provides services remotely to Boston residents. He was joined by Yissel Guerrero, Mayor Martin J. Walsh’s neighborhood liaison to the Back Bay, Beacon Hill, Fenway and Mission Hill, who highlighted some upcoming events in the neighborhood, including the Love Your Block cleanup on May 19 and the Mayor Walsh’s Coffee Hour, which comes to the Fenway June 19.
Also, after exactly one month on the job, Captain Steven Sweeney of the Boston Police Area D-4 was in attendance and said that high crime, homelessness, drugs and quality-of-life issues remain matters of concern throughout the district.
Meanwhile, Bebop, an Irish restaurant and music venue at 1116 Boylston St., came before the group to propose extending its patio closing time from 11 a.m. to midnight.
Tim Horn, president of the association’s board of directors, said the group would take the matter under advisement.
