The Esplanade Association is offering the hugely popular free fitness classes in the park. This year, thanks to our partners, we are thrilled to once again offer weekly Zumba, Yoga, and CrossFit!
All Healthy, Fit & Fun classes are free and open to the public. People of all ages and abilities are encouraged to come and participate. For more information and to pre-register online please visit our website.
Classes will run weekly from 6-7pm. Participants are encouraged to pre-register but registration will also be available at the event.
Children in the Park (CHiPs)
July – August
Each summer the Esplanade Association’s CHiPs program brings over 1,200 children from Boston-area camps who have limited access to open space into the park to enjoy outdoor play.
Held Wednesdays from July – August, CHiPs includes fun outdoor games that promote healthy lifestyles for children, while exposing them to an active day at the Esplanade.
Free Friday Flicks
Through August 19
WBZ NewsRadio 1030 and the DCR will once again host Free Friday Flicks at the Hatch Shell.
Bring a blanket or lawn chair, pack a picnic, and watch a movie with family and friends on Friday night for free! Movies begin at sundown.
Jazz Brunch at the Charles River Bistro
Through October
Jazz up your weekend and soothe your soul every Saturday and Sunday! Featuring trio Arnie & The Wildflowers, talented quartet ZCK Jazz Quartet, and rotating special guests, The Bistro’s Jazz and Soul Brunches are a must! Guests can indulge in The Bistro’s brunch menu while enjoying a morning of music at this beautiful, scenic location.
Music starts at 9:30 AM.

Dog Days of Summer Photo Contest
Ending August 19, we invite you to enter our “Dog Days of Summer” photo contest to draw attention to our campaign to restore the Lotta Fountain as a destination for park pets and owners.
Photos can be submitted through Instagram and Facebook. We will choose ten winners who will be featured on our website as well as in our first-ever “Dogs of the Esplanade” calendar.
