Police Investigating Brutal Shooting on Saturday, Follows the Triple Shooting from Previous Week

Just one week after Boston Police investigated a triple-shooting stemming from a birthday party on Massachusetts Avenue, this week they are investigating a brutal murder that took place Saturday night on Shawmut Avenue near the Lenox Housing Development.

At about 10:51 p.m. on Saturday, July 15, officers assigned to District D-4 (South End) responded to a call for a person shot in the area of Kendall Street and Shawmut Avenue in Lower Roxbury. On arrival, officers located a male victim in his 20s suffering from an apparent gunshot wound to the head. The victim was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The victim has not been identified as of yet.

The Boston Police Department is actively investigating the facts and circumstances surrounding this incident. Anyone with information is asked to call the Boston Police Homicide Unit at (617) 343-4470.

That followed a triple-shooting in the 500th block of Massachusetts Avenue at a July 4 cookout and birthday party.

No one was killed in that shooting incident, but a man and woman were hospitalized, and investigators have called for witnesses to come forward.

They believe they have a person of interest in the case, but there have been no arrests yet.
