D-4 Police News
Alley cat
On Monday, Sept. 18, at about 11:16 a.m., police responded to a radio call for a breaking and entering at Black Jack Pasta at 52 Queensbury St.
At that time, two employees told officers discovered two Samsung tablets and an Apple iPad were missing and located a small, folding knife behind the counter, which they both handled.
The employees also directed police to a rear window, which was left unlocked and found slightly ajar. A fire extinguisher was also reportedly knocked over, and a yellow ladder was found beneath the window in the rear alley.
The business owner arrived on the scene and told police he closed the restaurant at 11:30 a.m.
The building owner told officer he had reviewed security footage, which apparently showed the devices being vandalized.
Police seized the folding knife as evidence.
Pistol packin’ perp
On Tuesday, Sept. 19, at approximately 8:30 a.m., police responded to Boston Medical Center at 725 Albany St. for a report of a man with a firearm.
Upon arrival, officers met with hospital security guards, who said they had cleared the first-floor bathrooms, where the suspect was believed to be.
Security guards said they had observed the suspect accompanied by a female at around 7:30 a.m., at which time he reached into his backpack and removed a silver-colored gun.
Police searched the area for the suspect and his accomplice to no avail.
Mouthful of garbage
On Tuesday, Sept. 19, at around 1:30 p.m., members of the District 4 Drug Control Unit monitoring the area of the Boston Medical Center for drug activity observed two suspects walking on Northampton Street from Albany Street. As he walked towards 10 Northampton St., one of the suspects was observed examining a plastic bag containing a tan substance believed to be heroin.
Police approached the suspects at the rear of 10 Northampton St. as one of the individuals was kneeling down while the other one stood over him. When one detective made eye contact with one of the suspects, he placed the plastic bag in his mouth. The detective then identified himself as police and ordered the suspect to spit out the alleged drugs. The suspect complied, and police recovered the drugs from the ground and seized them as evidence.
Both suspects told police there drug addicts and planned to use one more time before entering treatment.
One suspect will be summonsed to Boston Municipal Court for possession of a Class A substance while the other will be summonsed to court for “knowingly being present where heroin is kept.”
Police advised both suspects to seek treatment at the PAATHS program for drug addiction.
