D-4 Police News
Not the ticket
A female victim reported she contacted a male suspect on Craig’s List and arranged to purchase three tickets to the next New England Patriots home game from him for $440 cash.
The victim met him at 100 Newbury St. on Friday, Sept. 22, at about 1 p.m., and bought what she thought were three valid tickets to the event, but when she went to the game and attempted to gain entry to the stadium, the tickets were unable to be scanned. A cashier then informed the victim that they were fake.
The victim furnished police with all her electronic correspondence with the suspect, and detectives are investigating the matter.
Special delivery
On Monday, Sept. 25, at about 6:37 p.m., police responded to a radio call for a verbal alteration at Papa John’s Pizza at 971 Tremont St.
Upon arrival, officers spoke with the general manager, who said at approximately 6:15 p.m., he and a driver got into an argument over delivery routes, which is a frequent occurrence.
This time, the general manager said the driver threatened him and then walked outside in attempt to incite him into a fight. The general manger remained inside the store until the driver left.
The general manger said he would seek a restraining order against the driver.
Unwanted customer
On Wednesday, Sept. 27, at around 9:30 a.m., security guards flagged down police outside the CVS Pharmacy at 587 Boylston St., and observed the suspect standing in the doorway and cursing at passersby.
The security guards told police that the suspect was blocking the doorway and soliciting customers for money. Police told him to stop “spare-changing” and immediately leave the area.
About an hour later, police observed the suspect soliciting passersby for money at Boylston and Dartmouth streets in a loud, abusive manner.
Then at 11:40 a.m., police observed the suspect again standing in the CVS doorway, begging for money. Police ordered him to leave the area several times, but the suspect refused and began cursing at officers. After he was placed under arrest for being a disorderly person and trespassing, he was transported to District 4 headquarters for booking.
